Always remember, Call 911 as soon as you recognize a problem
Car Accidents
If involved in a car accident, or witnessing a car accident, remember to limit movement of yourself or the person that is in the vehicle. Unnecessary movements could lead to further injury.
If you are uninjured keeping a seat belt cutter and window punch could be helpful to get you or someone else out of their vehicle.

Help avoid accidents by not texting and driving, following the posted speed limits, do not drive aggressively, follow traffic control devices, look twice before proceeding through an intersection.
Carbon Monoxide
If your carbon monoxide detector activates, GET OUT and STAY OUT. If you are feeling dizzy, nauseous, face is turning bright red, or have a headache, let 911 dispatcher know immediately.
Carbon Monoxide is an Odorless and Tasteless gas, which can be lethal after long term or high level exposures.
Always have your heating systems checked before using them each winter. Never use an oven or propane space heater inside the house to heat your home. Woodstoves can be a source of CO.
Tree on Wires / Wires Down
DO NOT APPROACH.
Call 911, or your power company immediately.
Live wires can arc up to 10 feet away.
DO NOT DRIVE OVER WIRES IN ROADWAY
If the wires fall on your car DO NOT EXIT YOUR CAR until told it is safe to do so.
Gas Leak / Hazmat
If you smell gas in your home call 911 immediately.
Go to your tank and shut it off asap.
Contact your fuel company, the fire company will also have 911 contact them as well.
Make sure all lights and anything with a spark are shut off and exit your house until you are told it is safe to re-enter.

Any other hazmat call, stay away and follow given instructions.
Lost Person
Do not go hiking without being prepared.
If you or your family member are lost in the woods, DO NOT CONTINUE TO MOVE. STAY PUT. If you have cell phone service with good battery call 911 they can try to pin point your location. When rescuers get closer yell and shout so they can hear you. Drones are a new tool that first responders use to help locate lost persons.
Vehicle Fire
If your vehicle catches fire GET OUT AND STAY OUT. If you have an extinguisher and fire is small and it is safe to do so, attempt to put it out. Your vehicle and all belongings are replaceable, you and your family are not.

Get you and your family off the road and out of harms way from the fire and oncoming traffic.
